Crucial Prenatal Fatty Acid
Hey guys, Akasha Hines here.
I just wanted to pop on and chat with you real quick about the importance of Omega 3s during pregnancy.
So many of you are most likely taking a prenatal vitamin. But are you taking enough Omega 3s or is that in your prenatal vitamin?
So, let's chat real quick about why Omega 3s are important.
So first, it's important to understand that Omega 3s help balance the production of prostaglandin the body. Prostaglandins are one of the key things that will help soften and efface your cervix later on in pregnancy.
So it's super important that you've got good Omega 3s to help balance your prostaglandin production.
The next thing that Omega 3s do is help maintain healthy blood pressure. Blood pressure is one of those things that kind of creeps up at the end of pregnancy that can lead to preeclampsia or just pregnancy-induced hypertension and the need to induce later on in pregnancy.
And that's something that we really don't want. And we hope to avoid. So, taking Omega 3s can help with that and helps your body regulate healthy blood pressure.
Next, Omega 3s are known to improve your cognitive function. Oh man, I need to take some right now.
Um but they help improve your cognitive function, which is really important for pregnancy and that pregnancy brain but also important for postpartum and the postpartum mental health.
So, Omega 3s help us with that. Omega 3s also help with the uh it regulate inflammation in the body which allergies are tied to inflammation.
There's so many things that are tied to inflammation. So Omega 3s help regulate the inflammation in our bodies.
They also help with the visual and neurological development of your baby, which is really important. We want our babies to have good eyes and obviously good neurological development. So Omega 3sS help with that.
They also help prevent premature rupture of the membranes, which means your water is breaking before it's time for your water to break.
So, if you're not taking an omega three, I highly suggest you take one. There are lots of different kinds on the market. There are a lot of fish oil based ones, but there are also a few plant-based ones if you uh don't want the fish oil vitamin.
So I highly encourage you if you are not taking an omega 3 that you do.
All right guys, this is a little quick tidbit. We're gonna come back for another episode to help you, you understand another important prenatal vitamin that you might not be getting enough of.
Ok. Bye.
